The sweet way to watch together
Watch together in perfect sync — start a watch party, share a code, and stream any video with friends. Live chat and reactions built in. Free, no account, no sign-up.
WatchBear is the sweet, simple way to watch videos together online. Open a video, start a room, share the code, and everyone's playback stays on the exact same frame — play, pause, and skip together while you chat and react in a side panel right next to the video. It's a watch party in one click.
WHAT IS WATCHBEAR?
WatchBear is a free "watch together" Chrome extension for hosting watch parties with friends, family, or your long-distance partner. Whether you want to watch movies together online, binge a series, react to YouTube videos, or run a remote movie night, WatchBear keeps everyone's video locked in sync — no laggy screen sharing, no "are you at the same part yet?", no accounts to create.
Start a room (we call it a Bear Den), share the room code, and your friends drop in within seconds. When anyone presses play, pause, or jumps ahead, everyone's screen follows. That's it.
KEY FEATURES
HOW IT WORKS (3 STEPS)
1. Install WatchBear and open the video you want to watch together.
2. Click the WatchBear icon and start a Bear Den. Copy the room code or invite link.
3. Send the code to your friends. They join, and everyone watches in perfect sync with live chat and reactions.
No downloads for your friends beyond the same free extension. No registration. No credit card. Just press play together.
WHERE IT WORKS
WatchBear works on YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, and most websites with a standard video player. It automatically finds the main video on the page and keeps it in sync for the whole room — so you can host a watch party almost anywhere you'd normally stream a video.
Note: WatchBear syncs playback. Everyone in the room still needs their own access to the video or streaming service they're watching (for example, their own subscription for paid platforms).
PERFECT FOR
PRIVACY AND TRUST
WatchBear is built to be simple and respectful of your privacy. No account, no sign-up, and no personal profile required to start watching together. WatchBear is open source (MIT licensed), so anyone can inspect how it works, and it's fully self-hostable if you want to run your own server.
